Sushmita Sen has officially adopted her 2nd child

A beaming Sushmita Sen stepped out of Bombay High Court on Wednesday, overjoyed that she had been granted adoption of her second girl child.

Dressed simply in blue jeans and white top, the actress held the baby tight in her arms and said, “She’s now officially Alisah Sen.”

Born on August 28, 2009, the baby was surrendered few days later by her unmarried mother to Child Welfare Committee. Alisah, who’s been with Sen since December, was earlier just her ward. However, the legal adoption process has been completed now and the almost six-month-old is now officially Sen’s daughter. Sen adopted her first child Rene under Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, which does not permit a person to adopt a second child of the same gender.
